Texas - Part 1

Putting my money into good use and travelling half way across America, to the State of bigger is better, the home of hold'em, the origin of Ya'll, was an adventure spent with two awesome ladies, an adventure never to be forgotten. As far as planning goes, in terms of the plane ride there and back, the shuttle to the airport, and the train to the shuttle, was all smooth and breezy, Airlink NYC impressed me to the Airport, on the return however, walking four blocks to Grand Central, is not far, but not acceptable in my books. Planning on the trip was a day by day, google as you go, availability by reservation, desperation by venue kinda motion, stressful yet enhancing the true " let's go with the flow '' expression, which is exactly what we did, we winged it, and boy did we fly !

Arriving in Austin, Texas airport, for a Texian any other day is normal, but for me it was my first introduction into Texas. Cowboys in their tight blue jeans, leather belts, cowhide hats and patterned leather boots dusty from experience with a " Well howdy Ma'am " was a fine introduction at that. Walking through the airport with country music flowing through my ears making my heart smile at the thought of such a diverse yet unique State, glass boxed artifacts and tributes to singers and actors born and raised in Texas were displayed on every pillar. The bag collection belt was even decorated with large guitars, colour, art and tribute.

From Austin Meg drove me to her home, the small yet exuding patriotism, town of Belton, Texas. I met the two boys she cared for, Isaac and Chase, who are the pictures of cuteness! With both parents in the Army, the excitement of putting on his Army uniform, Chase was demonstrating marches and salutes and enthusiastically chatting about his troops in battle. It was here we had the awesome news we were able to use the Honda Passat for our road trip, saving bucks, saving lives ! The next day, it was packing, cleaning, planning and sorting the start to our road trip... Christopher Robin provided us with safety, and the undecided, unnamed GPS, direction. Stop one, Fort Worth, Dallas, Texas.
